Culturally Tailored Health Programs in the US
Research is currently being done on the efficacy of culturally tailored health programs (CTHPs) in diminishing the effects of language and cultural barriers on the health outcomes of Hispanic patients and thus reducing health disparities present in this population. These programs are described in more detail in the “What are CTHPs?” page.
My goal was to research CTHPs and compare the results to determine which aspects of the programs are most effective in improving health outcomes. In order to have a common result with which to compare health outcomes, I decided to research only those programs seeking to eliminate the disparity in the diagnosis of diabetes and its resulting risk of complications.
